How we help

You don't have to figure it out alone.

Most people come to us because something has been wearing them down for a while — depression, anxiety, ADHD, sleep, or just feeling stuck. Whatever brought you here, we'll help you understand what's going on and what would actually help.

Psychiatry

If medication might help, we'll talk through your options carefully — the why, the how, and what to watch for. Same clinician every visit.

Therapy

Real conversations with a licensed therapist who knows your story. We use approaches with strong evidence — CBT, ACT, DBT skills — tailored to what you're working on.

What makes us different

A real practice, not a platform.

Most of what's marketed as "online mental health" is built for scale, not for people. Quick text exchanges with whoever's available. Five-minute prescription refills. Subscriptions you forget to cancel.

We do something quieter. You'll have a clinician you actually know, in an office you can actually visit, with the option to see them by video when that's easier. Your story stays with one team. The care fits the person.

What patients say

You're in good company.

I was nervous about asking for help, but my first visit didn’t feel rushed at all. We actually talked through what was going on. I left with a plan that made sense to me.

M., age 34Anxiety, started care 2026

I’d seen three different psychiatrists who basically prescribed something and sent me on my way. This was completely different. They actually listen.

J., age 47Depression and ADHD

Easy to schedule, easy to do video visits when work is busy, easy to come in person when I want to. The office handled the FMLA paperwork I’d been dreading.

S., age 29Generalized anxiety

I was skeptical after years of trying things that didn’t help. My clinician didn’t promise a miracle — just steady, careful work. Six months in, I’m sleeping again.

K., age 38PTSD

After four medications, I’d basically given up on feeling like myself. We took a careful look at the whole picture and tried things in a thoughtful order. I’m back at work and present with my kids.

R., age 52Treatment-resistant depression

I’d put off getting evaluated for years because I thought it would be a hassle. Booking was simple, the eval was thorough, and I had a clear next step within a week. I wish I’d done it sooner.

D., age 24ADHD

Patient stories shared with permission. Names and identifying details changed for privacy.

Common questions

The things people ask before booking.

How quickly can I be seen?

Most new patients have a first visit within 1 business day. Reach out today; we look forward to getting you scheduled.

Do you take my insurance?

We're in-network with Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, ConnectiCare, Optum, Oxford, and most major commercial plans. We accept Husky / CT Medicaid for select services. See full list →

What does the first visit cost?

If you're using insurance, your cost is your plan's specialist copay or coinsurance. We verify your benefits before your first visit and tell you in writing what to expect — no surprise bills. We also offer discounted self-pay rates. See our rates →

Can I do this from home?

Yes. Secure video visits are available for most appointments, anywhere in Connecticut. Many patients alternate — in person sometimes, video other times. Both work the same way clinically.

Is psychiatry the same as therapy?

No, but they often work together. Psychiatry focuses on diagnosis and (when appropriate) medication. Therapy is the structured conversation work. We offer both at Northline so you can do one, the other, or both with the same team.

What if medication hasn't worked for me before?

That's actually one of the reasons we exist. We carefully review what's been tried, why, and what's left to try. For depression specifically, we're preparing to offer Spravato and TMS at our East Lyme office for patients who need next-step options.

Are my visits private?

Yes. Everything you discuss is protected by HIPAA. We don't share information with employers, family, or anyone else without your written permission. Mental-health records have additional protections under Connecticut law.

When you're ready, we're ready.

A short intake call confirms your insurance, answers your questions, and gets you on the schedule. Most patients are seen within 1 business day.
